MY Story - in Color

Hi! I’m Abby.

I’m an artist and elementary art teacher in Summerville, South Carolina. I’m also a wife, baseball mom, and probably someone who notices the color of the sky a little more than the average person.

I paint because I love helping people see the beauty in everyday places. A quiet marsh, an old downtown building, a sandy path to the beach, or a dock that’s seen a thousand sunsets. Those are the kinds of moments that stop me in my tracks, and they’re the ones I love bringing to life with bright color and lots of light.

I’ve spent more than 20 years teaching kids that creativity isn’t about being perfect. It’s about paying attention, trying new things, and finding joy in the process. Turns out, I need that reminder just as much as they do. My studio is full of experiments, paint-covered brushes, and the occasional moment where I wonder what in the world I was thinking before it all comes together.

Home for me is Summerville, South Carolina, where I’m constantly inspired by the charm, history, and easy pace of the Lowcountry. My goal is simple. I want to create artwork that makes you smile, reminds you of a favorite place, or brings a little peace to your home.

When I’m not painting, you’ll usually find me teaching, cheering at a baseball field with an iced coffee in hand, wandering around town looking for my next painting idea, or convincing myself that buying just one more art supply is a completely reasonable decision.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find something here that feels like home.
